The other weekend I had the amazing privilege to attend the Austin City Limits Musical Festival or like us hip festival goers refer to it as, ACL. My sister scored two 3-Day wristbands through work. And man was I grateful she offered me one of those wristband because I had an amazing time.
The festival was a glorious playground of all my loves, a wonderful variety of fashion, a delicious array of food, and of course some super groovy tunes. Foster’s People, Jay-Z, Omar Xavier, Solange, R.L.U.M.R, Chance the Rapper, Ice Cube… just to name a few. So let’s just say this weekend long event was nearly perfect for your girl.
And of course I had to have the right wardrobe to strut during this fantastic weekend, so here’s my little festival fashion look book.
Day 1 started late afternoon so there was of course a little bit of Texas heat, even in the first week of October. So I went with something that would keep me cool with the bike ride there, the hours of grounds strolling and the inevitable sardine packing in at every stage.
Nothing says concert time like a nice 90’s grudge look. So I paired a ACL t-shirt I was gifted with one of my simple black lace dresses. And tossed on my short-cut black platform boots. And to seal the 90’s look I added a black choker and a pair of Afro puffs. And I was ready to rage.
Day 2 started even earlier so I had to wear another weather appropriate fit. I went with one of my favorite tan-colored overall dresses. Underneath I put one of my new turquoise tees. And nothing says Texas festival like a little bandanna action. So I found one of my graphic fabrics that had the perfect touch of turquoise.
To complete the look I went with a half pinned back Afro and subtle ruby pink on the lips. And a pair of classic short-cut white Converse on the feet.
And to top off this awesome weekend full of amazingly talented artist, I got the honor of being featured in Texas Monthly’s ACL fashion piece. Check me and some of the other cool looks from the two weekends out in the link below!
